Caleb is talking so much lately it's unbelievable. It still does not surprise us at all when he blurts out the name of some random car, counts in a foreign language, or sounds out words in books. But we will never get used to how he absorbs and processes things in his everyday life, and then says them back to us so naturally. Like telling Daddy the other day that he was "driving him bonkers." Or telling mommy that he didn't want to sit by her but, "I still love you doe."
Tonight though he said perhaps the funniest thing yet. Mommy was cooking dinner and Caleb was singing his favorite Christmas song 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' (yes - he still sings the Christmas songs they taught him at school).
Mommy: Caleb, Santa Claus isn't coming back for a long time, but what do you want Santa to bring you next year for Christmas?
Caleb: Uhmm...food and va-va-vooms
Mommy: Food and va-va-vooms? Those are things that mommy and daddy give you all the time. You're supposed to ask Santa to bring you stuff that mommy and daddy don't ever give you. Something special... What's something special that mommy and daddy don't give you that you want Santa to bring?
Caleb: Uhmm...MEAT!
Can you believe it? This little boy is so smart.
Oh, and he doesn't like tomatoes either.
