So, gone is the little poofy haired boy we've raised for a little over a year and in his place is a polished and burgeoning young man. It's amazing what a difference a haircut makes! We've wanted to get Caleb's hair cut for a while, but weren't sure he'd sit still through it. We were right - he didn't, but for the most part he was very well behaved. That is if you don't count the low point of the evening when he vomited all over Aunt Amber and the salon floor. It wasn't his fault, macaroni and medicine don't mix. Poor Aunt Amber just happened to be holding him when he chose to blow and got the brunt of it.** Parissa, the hair stylist, was very patient with him though and quickly cleaned up the mess while pretending not to gag from the smell. She was even kind enough to show us exactly how to cut Caleb's hair ourselves, and gave us all the necessary tools to do it, so future haircuts won't require a trip to the salon (a fact that makes daddy very happy - and we suspect Parissa too).
Before:
Yeah, this back poof had to go...
Combing out the curls...

After:

_____* Yes Opa, when he is older he can wear his hair however he wants. He is free to be an individual and express himself however he chooses, blah blah blah. Even if it means wearing his hair in a modified mullet - nice curls on top and an afro puff on back – classy!!
** Caleb says, "Sorry Au-tee. Love-Love." If there was any chance of Aunt Amber ever having kids, it died and was swept up with the macaroni that day in the salon.

I am so glad that you decided to use pictures instead of the videos of the haircut because we would have been in those and it would not have been pretty. I also like how you got the before shots to illustrate the demanding need for a hair cut! Good job! Tell my little guy apology accepted! Love-Love back at cha' dude!
