Can you believe Matthew is already two?!?!? His birthday party was wonderful and Caleb had a great time running around with him and all the other kids. At first Matthew was a little shy seeing as he hadn't seen Cae in a month or so, but after about five minutes he walked over to him, looked him in the eye, and put his little hand on his shoulder. Caleb said, "Hi Matthew," and then they gave each other a big hug. It was pretty darn cute. How have they already become such little men? After that they were running around getting into trouble and it was like they hadn't spent a day apart.
Princess Dina also graced the party with her presence. She was dressed in a big poofy party dress, of course, and had more attitude than everyone else at the party combined. She is going to be quite a handful when she gets older! Seeing the three of them together again made us really happy.
Matthew is a very lucky little boy to have so many wonderful people come to share in his special day.*
Ever since Matthew turned two Caleb can not stop singing happy birthday. Happy birthday is definitely his new favorite song. He sings it in the car, bath, as he falls asleep at night, and always first thing in the morning followed by a rousing rendition of the ABC's. We were able to catch him once on video singing it to Matthew, but his favorite person to sing happy birthday to is Geby. He sings happy birthday Beby (Geby) at least twice a day. With as many birthday songs as Geby has received since the party June 12th, she has to be pushing 100 years old now. She keeps telling us Caleb is making her old with all the birthdays they are celebrating!
It seems like only yesterday that we were introduced to Matthew and his beautiful family. We never would have imagined that Caleb would make such a good friend so early in his life. We are so happy that we've been able to continue their friendship even though Matthew is no longer at Geby's. Hopefully Matthew and Caleb can remain friends for years to come!
